A few weeks ago I had the great pleasure of photographing the inaugural dinner for Cardiff University postgraduate students from the school of Social Sciences.
The atmosphere was really special, perhaps helped by the professional harpist playing up on the balcony. Everybody was friendly and super excited to be there, and I’d like to think that is reflected by the photos which I was able to capture.
It can be difficult photographing events like this – you want to capture all the moments, but you also want to seem like you’re not there – it’s not always that much fun having a camera thrust in your face when you’re trying to enjoy an event…
Along with taking shots of the dinner, hall and speeches, we set up a little photo booth area where people could be photographed in a more formal way. This was also great fun, and lots of the guests seemed to enjoy being photographed! See below for some of the shots from the evening.
